spacE + Narratives is a project developed within the framework of the Arts-based PhD dissertation 'Subaltern Narratives: Subjective knowledge of space through storytelling".

The objective of this research is to address the everyday experience of space in environments that have been subjected to enormous economic, environmental and social pressures due to the execution of open-pit mining projects and the so-called "megaprojects" of infrastructure in Colombia.

Regardless of the legal or illegal origin of this type of projects, which respond to processes of a globalized and extractivist economy, their realization has led to the territorial dispossession of communities that end up being marginalized and subordinated spatially and socially.

Although this situation has ended up reproducing forms of colonial domination, it has also led to the emergence of new forms of popular space management and new narratives that question developmentalist discourses and claim the importance of other ways of living together and being in the world.

The exploration of these narratives, as well as the subjectivities and the daily experience from where they occur, is the space in which this research wishes to locate and experiment the possibilities of oral, written, visual and performative language.
